My husband just got back from Afghanistan.
The last time he deployed, Dannika was only 6 months old and just over a year old when he got back…so she didn’t really know what was going on or grasped the concept that he was gone for so long.
This time was different.
She’s 2 1/2 now, and the entire deployment she would randomly ask me, “Where’s Daddy?” and “When’s he coming home?”
It broke my heart every time.
So this homecoming was extra special.
When she saw him walk up for the first time, she FREAKED out.
In this photo, she’s pointing at the camera saying , “This is my daddy…”
I think I cried…just a little bit
Also, this photo cred goes to Tamara Maddox from Picture This-The Creativity is Free
She took all our homecoming photos for us.

I cried! Great that he’s home. I’m sure he was terribly missed!!!!!!!!! Tks to him for his serving our country! So noble!
So beautiful!!! I shed a tear, too. I second Lisa – thank him for his serve. Welcome home!
*Make that “service”…
From one military wife to another, LOVE to hear about homecomings. Congratulations and may your reunion be SO sweet!
It is the best moment when they come home! Thank you for your service (being a military mom is not an easy job) and your husband’s service!
